Hi All
Yesterday in the nice warm spring weather that passed our way
a few Winter Caddis ( Dolophilodes distincta ) were depositing their eggs
in a brook that flows into Keji.
Not exactly a well know member of the spring flora in Nova Scotia but
I look for it every year - it may be more common that I released - but
requires the right habitat. They hatch in November and over winter
along the brooks and deposit their eggs on a warm early spring day.
Enjoy the spring
