I installed a forced air heat pump in our home and our combined oil and
electric bills went down $1,800 in each of the past two years. The
$10,000 installation cost will be paid off in 4 more years. It isn't
doing much for my carbon footprint since I am substituting oil for
coal-generated electricity here in Nova Scotia. However, it is nice to
have the cool air blown through the house in the hot days of summer.
