Yes indeed. There was some corruption in the the database that manages the list after
our contractor “baharp” had set it up. One of the tech committee took a look and got some
stuff working, and I had hoped it was fixed enough to limp along until we could place
some focussed eyes on it. However, it still messes up periodically.
It appears to me that we can generally get the actual list processing
system to work, but there is still something off in the web interface (Which
was the big selling point on moving from Majordomo to Mailman - that it
was actually being maintained, which meant that new features like a
web management interface were standard.)
I have restarted all the servers, and for the ccn-tech list am able to go
in and edit the membership list. However, I can not get it to show
me the list of pending spam to be discarded. What I am hoping is
that that also allows people to go in and re-enable their subscription
if something went wrong in the mail system that caused it to think
they are bouncing.
Unfortunately, I have not managed to get myself trained up enough to
say whether to re-enable for them you would go into Users/Non-Member
or Users/Members and click “Enabled” on Delivery Status.
In theory, one can send messages to naturens-request(a)chebucto.ns.ca and
naturens-subscribe(a)chebucto.ns.ca and have the automated system
do operations like majordomo did without having to use the web interface.
These get delivered somewhere but I am not sure if they work.
I did not get a message back to my “HELP” text to -request to see if it
would tell me what I should write to request and my message to -subscribe
did mark me to subscription, but it is now waiting for me to reply to the
user confirmation email before making me a member.

that I should reply to or I can send “confirm long number” to -request

I am unclear whether people that are suspended should send a new
message to -subscribe . I would assume that should either get them
running again, or send them a new confirm message to reply to so as
to prove their address is not bouncing.
Hopefully after the move we will be able to lavish a little love on the
mailing list software. I do not think there are any factions on the
tech committee pushing for a return to Majordomo since it
has not received an bug fixes for about 10 years, but there is some
suggestion to ditch Mailman as too unstable and try a different
mailing list software.
Hopefully in the mean time this is enough to get you up and
running again.

Surely you know this, but, Chebucto email is not working. Horde / IMAP clients report no INBOX. I can send from the Horde client but reply does not arrive in either chebuctorWebMail or an IMAP client.
And, this may have been the case for a long time.
Please respond to advise if this is known problem or not.
