Hello again,
An update since there has been some changes when the HCC mailing list
moved from the Majordomo platform to GNU Mailman. For any NSLUG members
also in this list, this information is of use as the version of Mailman
we have with HCC is newer than what may be familiar on NSLUG.
The key change is that subscriptions (to this list) is managed by a
personal account separate from the subscription itself (versus all
requests completed by the list manager in Majordomo, or a subscribed
email address paired with a weak password). This change is more in line
with systems that are designed for an individual to subscribe to
multiple lists, and remember only one login for all subscriptions.
---------------------------------
The Post-Migration Implication Is:
---------------------------------
As noone had accounts before, the subscriptions are carried over and
are not linked to an existing account.
You may have no interest in changing your subscription options inside
the web interface (there are some rudimentary changes you can do
through various well-crafted email messages - though some
testing/documentation is likely still required) so this ask may not
apply, however it is recommended that you create a Mailman account and
link your HCC subscription for a second self-serve option.
-----------------------------
Please Follow The Steps Below:
------------
-----------------
Please head to the following link and choose "Sign Up" at the top.
https://mailman.chebucto.ns.ca/mailman3/lists/hcc.chebucto.ns.ca/
Fill the form to your desire - however enter the email address EXACTLY
as this message was delivered to you (a variation of your email address
will not match and not be successful). Press submit.
Return to your email account and wait for a confirmation email to
tie your subscription to this new account (if nothing arrives after 20
minutes, please check any Junk/SPAM folders).
Once it arrives, choose the link inside (which will take you to the
website again to complete the process. If you receive a security
warning when returning, please ensure the web address starts with
https: instead of http:.
Once confirming your email while logging in, you can now attend to
personal preferences such as your list name, digest mode (receive a
daily digest instead of every reply as they come in), etc.
Hope this helps. A final note is that we do have archives that can be
browsed (as messages get posted), as part of that migration.

Hello everyone,
Mail system migration (Chebucto) happened early this month - there
were
bugs to work through (including this list falling through the cracks
for looking abandoned). I am just popping out this message since the
list has been quiet anyway as well as a testing the functionality.
No need to respond; I will see this message come through if
successful.
