I love these.
My top: when I was in a tree house my friends and I built when we were
teenagers, in the winter slightly inebriated, by myself while my friends
were collecting sticks for out stove, something jumped on my shoulder. I
looked down and saw an animal I'd never seen before. It then jumped across
the room, stuck to the wall and I had a great look. Then it crawled out.
This was the day I learned we had flying squirres in NS.
My friends didn't believe me, but it returned and we all had great looks a
few more times. Seymour, cause it had big eyes to see more. Ha.

Hi Gary & All,
The very unlikely sometimes happens. When walking with our dog south of
Kentville, who enjoyed following scents and wore a cowbell because he never
barked, I heard him turning back and coming toward me.
I happened to be near a rabbit path so waited near it. A rabbit ran
toward me at full tilt, was apparently startled at seeing me and jumped
belt high into my arms.
And when splitting firewood in North Alton in a light rain while
eating slices of apple I set some a few feet away for a nearby Squirrel.
After eating many slices of apple it became unafraid and when it started to
rain hard it went to a perch, sat upright and brought its tail upright
against its back and with the tail's end above its head and fanned out so
it shed water like an umbrella.

Hi all,
I was debating whether or not to post this, because it is so unbelievable
what happened yesterday.
It happened at a place where I hike a lot, and maintain several wild bird
feeders such as fallen logs, stumps etc..and the birds and Tree Cougars
(Squirrels) are usually waiting for their buffet.
Was bent over putting out Black oil Sunflower seeds, and crumbled bird
pie when I heard something fly in and brush against me.
Now, the unbelievable part, not sure if it was hovering or landed on the
backpack I was wearing but could actually feel it's wingbeats on my
shoulders as it was flapping away on me!
After realizing that I wasn't hallucinating, I straightened up saw that
it flew to a nearby tree. It didn't look agitated, or put out at all, maybe
it does that all the time.
It looked like a Male Merlin. It then flew into the woods nearby and I
didn't see it again.
This was definitely Head and Shoulders above any wildlife encounter I've
ever had. Even more than the time the Crow landed on my head while inside
my Camera blind..
This actually happened,
