We usually see a couple of those big flocks here to feast on the beech
mast. Not much of that this year (blame the weevil?), and no grackles to
speak of. The part of their visit that I miss the most is the
susurration of their taking off in great numbers (I can do without
their constant vocalization [squawking?], though).
